Not great, Not even good. But the only one in town that you can sit down and have a waiter wait on you and bring you the food. I wish they would learn to use fresh garlic and ginger... cut down on the MSG, and salt. All Americans don't want everything salty and sweet. You have to ask for NO MSG, and they say they can do it. However, I feel it is still in there because I get the numb face from it... and can tell. They recently changed their crispy noodles that go with the soup, and their duck sauce. Neither move was a wise one. the sauce is now sickening sweet and the noodles lack taste and texture. I assume it was a cost cutting move. Oh, they also raised the prices... however they did ditch the melamine sectioned plates which I really am glad about. Glass is SO much cleaner.

Updated Dec '14 - Health Dept has closed this place at least twice in the last year (rat droppings in food/equipment). Haven't been here in years, but decided to update my previous review just in case. ...Prices are reasonable and service is good. Location isn't the greatest though.

iDisappointment prevails! Had take out Chicken & Broccolli which was actually Garlic Chicken in some kind of chicken broth kind of liquid and the Beef Stick appetizer which was so tough and chewy my dog would not even eat it. I am still tasting the garlic as I write this review. My check for just the above $19.80!! Are you kidding me! This is chinese not fine dining. Needless to say I will not be returning. And my pet peeve for the chinese restaurants whats with the pint of white rice with your order!? $4.50 to upgrade to a quart!?

Like most, I've had Chinese food from all over. It's been a staple in my travels along the entire east coast. Peking is absolutely the best! Great food... Done the right way with Great service.

Haven't been to Peking in almost two years but was craving some good Chinese food and didn't want takeout. Some of the more recent reviews had me a bit worried but we decided to give it another try and I'm so glad we did! Place was very clean and service was excellent. Water and tea were filled often. Extra napkins were brought immediately. Waitress was smiling and very pleasant. Surprisingly, even tho it was a bit past 6:30 we were able to get the early bird special which was nice and included soup, egg roll, choice of fried or steamed rice and ice cream. We ordered two dishes; beef with broccoli with white rice and shrimp with lobster sauce with fried rice. We both had wonton soup and egg roll. The soup was hot and delicious. We asked for the egg roll to be "well" done and crispy and it came to the table hot, well done and deliciously crispy! The dishes were timed quite well and we never felt rushed nor forgotten. What a pleasant surprise to find very large portions that were perfectly prepared and delicious. There was more than enough to take home for lunch the next day and the price was very reasonable. It's hard to find really good Chinese food on the Treasure Coast and even though it's about a thirty minute drive to Peking it was more than worth it. The next time that Chinese food craving hits we'll be headed to Ft. Pierce and Peking Chinese Restaurant.

The food was average Chinese food, the service was way too bad. The waitress was asking us if we know we should pay tips and said "for such a high-end restaurant, you should pay at least 20% tips, which should be 6 bucks". But $6 is more than 20% and it is the first time that I was asked to pay certain amount of tips. It was the worst experience I ever had.

I always got takeout and very happy with it. This time I took a friend to lunch. Soooo awful. First is the stench. It is do bad that you are sure that you can't possibly eat. The kitchen must be dirty! Right? So we stayed based upon previous food. NO ONE ELSE CAME IN THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE EATING! We got lunch special lo mein. Could not eat egg roll for the freezer burn taste. The fried rice did not have a fresh today taste. Taste was old. So we picked around at our other stuff and paid and left. Our wait staff was inattentive even though the person sat at another table by us alone and watched the cars go by. Oh, and the blinds on the window had about 1/4 inch dust & dirt. I am worried that I will be sick tonight. DON'T GO THERE! I know that I won't.

Had a late lunch/early dinner here today and the food was outstanding. Even though we arrived at an odd time, all was freshly made and perfect. My husband ordered chicken and broccoli and asked for it to be made extra spicy (I think he does this so I can't share any with him) and I ordered honey garlic chicken (he ate about 1/3 of mine...I'll have to figure out a similar "order it spicy" trick). Both meals were really delicious, we ate until we were way too full and still had leftovers to bring home in those little white boxes. :)

Good take out. You are getting a bit more "authentic" food then your usual China wok but you are also paying for it. It's a bit pricey but as far as quality it is the better in town... near my house. I had the sweet and sour pork tonight and was disappointed. They said it comes with pineapple, onions and peppers but a piece of each doesn't count for a $12 combo meal. It did come with rice, soup and egg roll. The rest was good. The soup had 3 wontons. My mom had the Mongolian beef; that was tasty. I've previously had their hunan and generals and liked them way better. This place is hit or miss. I would never dine in as tipping for service on this caliber of food seems silly. I will continue going back and hoping to find something that blows me away. Plus side is that the guy who usually takes my order on the phone understands me well and I understand him well too.

We are regulars. I love the sweet and sour chicken and my husband loves the Szechuan beef. The egg rolls are hot and not greasy. The fried rice is perfect with just the right amount of soy sauce. Their early bird dinner includes everything right down to the sherbert or ice cream to finish off the meal. You literally get two dinners for the price of one because there is so much food. We usually take it home and order extra egg rolls for the next day! Enjoy

Service is very good, nice, and very polite; they notice their usuals. Food is amazing and the pricing is optimal with the value and taste of the food. Highly recommended.

Restaurant has stuffy smell; service was good, food was not. Bland, overpriced.

I love Peking because it's like a blast from the past. This is the US-style Chinese restaurant that is so hard to find now. It's not authentic in the slightest, but it reminds me of the Chinese places I'd go as a child in the 80s, where there was a bowl of fried egg noodles waiting at the table as I was seated, where I could count on tasty Americanized fare like moo goo gai pan, lo mein, chicken wings, egg rolls and mounds of shrimp fried rice. The likelihood I will ever return to Ft. Pierce is slimmer than Kate Moss on a crack binge, but if I do, I will be dining at Peking. (I suppose I could've said "slimmer than Lazy-eye Lushuss", who works the corner in front of Peking, but I don't suppose most of you would have any clue what I'm talking about. But around Ft. Pierce, her skills are rumored to be as good as Peking's egg rolls, though she costs at least twice as much.) Overall, 6/10.

We really enjoyed the meal we had here. Ok we've eaten Chinese food around the world and I'm not gonna say that this is the best ever, but I will say everything was fresh and the seafood seemed as if it had just come from the ocean. Charlie was great and we enjoyed speaking with him. If you like you spicy with real bite I suspect you have to ask for it otherwise it's barely noticeable. The make their noodles daily and they were excellent.

Very good food and impeccable service but perhaps a bit pricier than expected for Chinese but it's worth the money.

This restaurant is great at making food with lots of flavor. I really liked the early bird szechuan chicken and Mongolian beef dishes. However, if you are not coming here for lunch, you are not getting the best value for your money for Chinese food since the individual dishes are priced slightly higher than other comparable Chinese restaurants. Overall, great service and good food!

Classic "Americanized" Chinese food. Great service and the food was yummy.

While it wasn't the worst asian style food I have had it was not good enough for me to return. MSG in many dishes led to an upset stomach later.

One of the great treats in my visits to Fort Pierce was coming for dinner at Peking. They always treated my grandmother well as she was a regular and were especially solicitous and kind. The food is really good (for standard Americanized Chinese fare). The decor is pretty standard, but in the back they have these large "paintings" with moving water effects that are truly garish. You can't have it all!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
